A Recruiter is a professional who specializes in finding, attracting, and hiring qualified candidates for open positions within an organization. Recruiters can work in-house as part of a company's human resources department or as external consultants for multiple organizations.

Recruiters are generally responsible for the full life cycle of the recruiting process, including sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating the interview process, and facilitating offers and employment negotiations, all while ensuring candidates have a pleasant experience. Their primary responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with hiring managers to understand job requirements, develop clear job descriptions, and determine the necessary qualifications and skills for open positions

• Using various methods to identify potential candidates, such as job boards, social media platforms, networking events, employee referrals, and talent databases.

• Reviewing job applications, resumes, and cover letters to shortlist candidates

• Conducting pre-screening interviews (phone, video, or in-person) to assess candidates' suitability for the role and organization

• Scheduling and coordinating interviews between candidates and hiring managers

• Collaborating with hiring managers to evaluate candidates based on their interviews, skills assessments, and other evaluation methods, such as reference checks or background checks

• Negotiating job offers with selected candidates, discussing salary, benefits, and other terms of employment

• Extending formal offers

• Maintaining relationships with candidates, including those not selected for current positions, to create a talent pool for future opportunities

• Building relationships with industry professionals, educational institutions, and other organizations to expand their network and improve their sourcing capabilities

• Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to the recruitment process, such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate sources, to measure their effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

• Inputting, maintaining, and updating employee records and organizational data in an HRIS (e.g., ADP)

• Ensuring that all screening, hiring, and selection is done in accordance with employment laws and regulations

• Continually reviewing recruiting processes for effectiveness and revising as necessary
